Jason Jones

A sad day at Swan…

We would like to express our deepest condolences to Jason Jones’ wife, children, and family.  He experienced a crash during his race and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with a serious head injury.  The doctors made every effort to save him, but his head trauma was just too severe and he tragically succumbed to his injuries during the night.

Our hearts are broken as we learned from his family that this was his very first race.  He had planned and looked forward to this event for many months and had chosen Swan’s Area Qualifier to be his first race.  He will be greatly missed by all, and even by those of us who never had the honor of getting to know this wonderful young man.

We want to personally thank all of our Swan racing family who was here this past weekend for your many prayers for Jason and his family, as well as for your respect and sensitivity during this difficult time.  In the 32 years that our family has been here at Swan, we have never had a rider fatality.  We are grieving this loss along with his family.

Mr. Jones was an Army Specialist and served our country overseas and had recently finished and come home.  In an effort to help the family with the mounting and unexpected hospital and funeral expenses, we will be dedicating our Police vs. Fire vs. Military Benefit Race on May 27 to him.  All proceeds from this special race class will be going directly to his family.

We will also accept any donations at that time as well.  We want to invite everyone to come out and show your support of all of these officers, firemen, and servicemen who will be racing for a great cause.

His family has set up a fund in order to raise money to help cover the costs they now face. If you feel led to donate, you may do so here: paypal.me/lisajones218

Words of comfort…

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”  John 14:27

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Hebrews 13:5

Be comforted as, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”  Revelation 21:4

BENEFIT RACE RECAP

.
A SPECIAL WEEKEND AT SWAN MX
This past weekend was something very special that we’ve never experienced here at Swan. It was very touching and emotional. Not just for our own family, but every single member of our racing family that was here as well.
.
The family of U.S. Army Specialist Jason Jones was able to join us on Sunday. We held a memorial lap in his honor with his wife and family leading the procession with every single racer following behind. Using a drone, one of our racers (Ty Quillin) so beautifully captured the love and caring sentiments of all the racers who rode in this memorial lap. This moment was so incredibly heartwarming and we would venture a guess that there weren’t many dry eyes as so many witnessed such a beautiful display of honor, respect, and support for Jason’s family.

(Be sure you watch the video! Link is posted below.)
.
The turnout for our Police vs. Fire vs. Military Benefit Race was simply incredible! There was nearly a full gate with 33 riders on the line. Seeing them race gave us all an immense sense of pride for our country and first responders. It was an honor to show our respect for these men who serve and protect our great nation. Thank you to all who participated in this special benefit race. All proceeds from this class were given to Jason’s family.
.
We were so blessed by everyone’s generosity who donated funds and participated in the raffle and silent auction. Many businesses wanted to help and also contributed financially. All of this money was given to Jason’s family as well.  The cards and gifts from our wonderful staff members and several racers were very much appreciated. Jason’s family left here feeling overwhelmed from the kind love and compassion demonstrated by complete strangers, whom they now consider as family.
.
We would like to extend a big ‘THANK YOU’ to each and every one of you!
Thank you for helping us send them off with their hands full and their hearts overflowing.
.
